Our green themes teach students about sustainability and alternative energy through the curriculum. There will be extended opportunities to participate in making an impact locally to improve the world globally through increased knowledge of energy and sustainability. By learning about these topics, students will be able to build on previous knowledge and continue learning in these areas. The main goal is not to give students a sense of “doom and gloom” but to instill a sense of wonder and excitement about the possibilities that the future has in store for these students. This would not have been possible without the generous donation of John & Carter Bryan and the William J.J. Gordon Foundation. We would like to publicly thank them for their contribution towards this effort. We would also like to thank the Educational Foundation of the Kennebunks and the Maine Cooperative Extension Office for their support of this plan.
